Ransom stands just over six feet in height, with blue eyes and light brown hair that is in a constant state of disarray. He generally looks like he just climbed out of bed, his clothes a bit too wrinkled, shirt untucked, and shoe laces untied. Though he doesn't seem to take much care to his appearance, he is generally clean and somewhat striking. If he actually cared, he'd garner far more attention where girls are concerned, but this doesn't seem to be his priority.

Ransom is generally laid back, of the opinion that everything will come in it's time and there's no need to rush. He's friendly, easy going, and incredibly loyal to those he considers his friends, and tends to just ignore those that aren't. Though he was slightly outcast as a child, he gets along well enough now, mostly due to his lackadaisical attitude towards those that don't like him. He pays them no mind and they leave him alone. As a key player on the SHS basketball team, he gets along fine with the jocks.

Naturally a social creature, Ransom prefers the company of friends, but rarely wants to be the center of attention. He is by no means an alpha and has very little desire to lead, perhaps because he has no idea where he's going. Ambition is one trait severely lacking in the boy, leaving the future up for definition. It doesn't bother him, but perhaps it should, since he does not aspire to live at home forever.

The members of the Weiss family are, as follows: Luna and Jett, Sol, Bella, Ransom, Jessalyn, Locke, Salem, Lynk, Cyan, and Mayze. All but Sol and Bella live together near the pack lands, on the outskirts of Salem. The Weiss family does not have a lot of money, and thus Ransom currently shares a room with his younger brother. He aspires to save enough money to build a house on his family's land, allowing him to stay close to them, but have his own bit of space.

Born and raised in Salem, Ransom is the third oldest child of nine, his family of eleven practically a pack unto itself. Though they don't have a ton of money, his mother just kept having kids, all piled into a house on the edge of town. At this point in his life, Ransom is beginning to wonder if his mother knows what birth control is. It feels like she's been pregnant for at least half his life. The lack of funds tends bothers him, but he knows his parents are doing the best as they can to get by.

Growing up as he did, there is very little that Ransom feels is his own. Everything he's ever had has been shared in some way. He's never had his own bedroom. His clothes are hand-me-downs from his brother. Books and toys were second hand. While he understand that this is to save money, he is occasionally a touch resentful about how tight his family budget it. On the other hand, Ransom appreciates gifts, especially unused ones, above any other of his belongings. Since his family is short on cash, Ransom works for any money he wants to spend on his own. This is the only reason he can afford a cell phone. Ransom hates other people paying for him over anything else; he can't stand feeling indebted.

While Ransom wouldn't consider himself part of the "in crowd", he does manage to get by. His grades aren't spectacular, but they're good enough that he can still play on the basketball team. This gets him in with the jocks, though not the girls, who seem to keep a running joke about how a date with Ransom Weiss would include a ride in a pickup truck that won't start, accompanied by at least 3 of his siblings in the truck bed. He tries not to let it bother him, even if half of it is true. He has never had a girlfriend, despite his good looks.

Senior year doesn't mean anything for Ransom, who doesn't expect to be leaving Salem, nor attending college. He suspects he'd just go to work full time and help tend to his family, hoping maybe to save up enough to move out and have his own space. He's pretty much just getting by, enjoying life as it hits him.
